Villages

The Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area (ABQ MSA) includes a number of smaller incorporated communities known as villages. These villages represent an important part of the region’s history and cultural identity.

Many of the villages in the Albuquerque metropolitan area began as agricultural settlements along the Rio Grande or rural communities in central New Mexico. Over time they developed into small municipalities that continue to maintain their historic character while remaining connected to the larger Albuquerque metropolitan economy.

Residents of these villages often enjoy a quieter lifestyle, open landscapes, and strong community traditions while still having access to the employment, education, and cultural opportunities available throughout the Albuquerque region.

Bosque Farms

Bosque Farms is located in Valencia County along the Rio Grande south of Albuquerque. The village is known for its rural character, equestrian lifestyle, and agricultural heritage.


Corrales

Corrales is located in Sandoval County between Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. The village is widely known for its scenic rural setting, historic adobe homes, and strong arts community.


Cuba

Cuba is located in Sandoval County along U.S. Highway 550 northwest of Albuquerque. The village serves as a regional hub for nearby rural communities and travelers heading toward the Jemez Mountains and northwestern New Mexico.


Encino

Encino is a small village located in Torrance County along historic U.S. Route 66 east of Albuquerque. The community reflects the rural traditions and ranching heritage of central New Mexico.


Jemez Springs

Jemez Springs is located in Sandoval County within the scenic Jemez Mountains. The village is known for its hot springs, mountain scenery, and proximity to outdoor recreation areas.


Los Lunas

Los Lunas is located in Valencia County south of Albuquerque along the Rio Grande. The village has experienced significant growth in recent years and serves as a major residential and commercial center within Valencia County.
