The Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area (ABQ MSA) is the largest population and economic region in the state of New Mexico. Centered on the city of Albuquerque, the metropolitan area includes Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, and Valencia counties in central New Mexico.
The Albuquerque MSA is home to more than 920,000 residents, making it the largest metropolitan area in the state and one of the most important economic centers in the American Southwest. The region serves as the hub for government, technology, education, healthcare, tourism, and transportation across much of New Mexico.
The metropolitan area is also part of the larger Albuquerque–Santa Fe–Los Alamos Combined Statistical Area, which links the state’s major population centers along the Rio Grande corridor.
